Synapses and circuits in the brain are responsible for who we are and how we perceive the world around us. Our lab explores the fundamental features of neural circuits in the mammalian brain. Current work targets the central pathways involved in the processing of smell and sound. We use behavioral, electrophysiological and optical techniques to study central circuits in brain slices and in vivo. Ultimately, we hope to reveal how brain regions process and encode sensory information.
